Only You are wise, Lord,
I confess my failure,
listening to my own counsel
quarrying my own wisdom
as if knowledge itself is life,
walking apart from You...
 
I confess that I am broken,
that I am an empty vessel...
Wisdom has but one reservoir
only one fount for an abundant life...
Wisdom is imparted by Your hand, O God,
in You alone is my reward...
 
You alone are wise, Father...
I am a fool to think I am...
I am but a cracked vessel...
I must not seek my own wisdom,
but I must trust in You alone, Lord,
for You are my salvation and strength...
 
I need You, Lord, each moment
trusting You only
for life is in the journey
with Your Holy Spirit guide my steps...
I have life in You only;
in You is my reward...
