His Pain Palpable – v4

His eyes that usually smile

a laugh deep within

set, for a purpose

our new life with Him

walking with Him

the Son of Man, of God

His words urgent

His pain palpable

even in reflection

crying for His people

the weak believers

rejecting the love of Jesus

Wishing they would see

that they would comprehend

the Word of God

come down as a Man

the Lord, their Savior

Jesus the Christ

These who claim his name

sitting complacent in their pews

the elect of God

yet failing to recognize

God’s own Son

walking here with us

The cord still strong – v2

other threads added

in the legacy behind them

though another string is broken

the strand is still growing

other branches in the vine

many strings remaining

in the cord of their making

a family united, marching,

in the service of the Lord

another string broken

a mortal life ended

but moving on to Glory

as the good Lord intended

another string giving way

now far fewer remaining

but the cord still strong, united

joining their journey

marching in Jesus’ name

in the service of the Lord

proof of creation, of life,

God’s light to the world

If you are faithful

if you are obedient;

You are the proof

of life, of creation,

of the existence of God;

made in God’s image,

God’s presence in the world

You are the voice,

the whisper over the waters

the Spirit within, moving,

the light of God within us

Your message, Your witness

to heal the world;

You are the proof

A promotion on to Glory

the trumpet sounding

the long-awaited call home;

on to Glory, to His final rest,

in the service of our Lord

serving in the field of battle

in the vineyards, the forests;

marching in this wilderness

carrying God’s battle flag

ever faithful to the calling

to the teachings of our God;

honoring his commitment

to the commands of our Lord

a promotion in the field

given a new assignment;

promoted as a servant,

now marching on to Glory,

in the service of our Lord

If you are faithful

if you are obedient

You are God’s message

God’s light to the world

You are the proof

of the existence of God

made in God’s image

God’s presence in the world

You are the voice,

the light of God

your message, your witness

to heal the world

You are the proof

the word from your lips

believing, sharing

the joy that is
