oh, risen Lord Jesus;
Walk right by my side;
Shield my path, protect me;
Make my way straight.
 
Hold onto me, tightly,
oh, indwelling Holy Spirit;
Don’t let me stumble, falter;
Keep me on this path,
my purpose, my holy calling.

I must listen to my Brother

I must listen to my Brother,
to His indwelling Spirit calling,
to reject my fear, my complicity,
in my misery, my sorrow…
 
His love for me in self-evident
by His sacrifice, my healing,
through the spikes in the rugged cross
from His dying and ascending…

I need to still myself, to be silent,
to trust in His guiding, His Spirit,
meeting our Father where I am
still out on that road…

Speaking in the voice of God – v2

A love letter to us, if we will listen,
every word is from the breath of God;
Each promise, each law, each story
Is a message of hope, of connection,
of our mortality, our immortality,
of our eternal kinship with God.
 
In the first person, speaking to us,
everything spoken is about the goodness of God;
Wanting connection, promising forgiveness,
our loving Father, our risen Brother,
the indwelling Spirit calls to us,
forever running to meet us out on the road.
