Alive, at the base of the pine,
A whole world, a universe,
A miniature forest, dwelling,
A fabric, A drape, a curtain,
A radiant blanket pulled up over,
Covering the roots, the tree’s feet…
Alive, at the base of the pine,
A living microcosm, a galaxy,
A breathing pause, a calm,
In our life’s journey, our travel,
Ancient plant elders speaking,
Whispering to each one of us…
