In
the silence of the trees, standing,
in their stillness, looking skyward,
listening in my watching, seeking,
yearning for conversation, in prayer,
Speaking, quiet, open to God…
Yet,
I still feel myself distracted,
I need to walk even more slowly,
to listen even more deeply
in the stillness of these moments
Raising my heart, my spirit, skyward…
In
the silence of the trees, standing,
I sense the vastness, the majesty,
of Your beauty, of creation,
I long to be your Servant,
Speak to me Lord, now…

For God’s anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
