In the silence of the trees – v4

In the silence of the trees, resolute,
in their stillness, looking skyward,
listening in my watching, seeking,
yearning for conversation, in prayer,
Speaking, being quiet, open to God…
 
Yet, I still find myself in disquiet,
needing to walk ever more slowly,
into the woods, into silence,
to be open, to listen even more deeply,
to the stillness of these moments
Raising my spirit, skyward, to heaven above…
 
In the silence of the trees, standing upright,
I sense the sheer vastness, the majesty,
of Your beauty, of Your creation.
Speak to me now, Lord, God,
I long to be your Servant…
