my heart’s flying – v2

in darkness my liberty
I am not held by these chains,
by these prison walls,
sunset signals my escape,
I am freed of these bonds…
 
I mount to the height,
no weight, no resistance,
rising above, outside,
into the night air,
freed from my chains…
 
my heart’s flying,
far from this place
to my homeland, Ukraine,
praying the bright stars
will gather me home,
they will show me the way…
