Defiled by my heart – v2

When I am lost, wandering,
Apart from my Father,
in the world, of the world
living by my flesh, my wits,
my own understanding,
independent, self-focused,
not listening to the Spirit...
I am defiled by my heart
What comes out of my mouth…

I am defiled by my heart,
the whispers of the Devil,
The lies of Satan are tearing me down…
So many years in the wilderness,
separated from You, Lord...
Striving with my own strength
living in isolation, alone,
claiming power that isn’t mine
When I need You, Lord…

Lord, change me completely,
Wash me wholly clean…
Put a new vision within me,
May I cleave to Your word,
Your Spirit informing my every step…
Heal me, Lord, of my ancient brokenness,
Lift me, Lord, from my ruts, my path,
Set me on Your way, conform my steps…
Lead me in righteousness,
in the way of Christ…
