the sting of a repeated lie – v2

the poison destroying, bleeding,
tearing into my flesh, my spirit,
changing my brain, my truth,
what I believed in my life…
the sting of a repeated lie
settled deep in my heart
separating me from God…
 
I believed the lie of Satan,
that I was guilty forever, unworthy,
my mortal flesh caught in a trap,
lost for decades, all alone…
I believed that God had left me
that He didn’t protect me
when I needed Him most…
 
I needed His touch, the Potter,
assurance of His presence
especially when I was little,
when I couldn’t see Him…
but I was pushing Him away
taking control of my steps,
walking far from God’s path…
 
the sting of a repeated lie
cut deep within me, a knife,
leaving thick scar tissues…
I need God’s light, His love,
to unpack the darkness
to soften my flesh, my spirit,
being transparent in my sin…
 
I now feel Him with me,
My risen Lord, Jesus, and the Father,
are indwelling within me, alive,
I hear the Spirit’s still small voice…
I am speaking the Darkness, the lies,
to sap them of their power,
how I long to walk with God…
