Jesus spoke her name, “Mary!”

Sorrow and confusion, terror,
gripped her grieving body, aching,
She didn’t know what to do, “How!”,
staring at Christ's empty tomb…
 
Jesus spoke her name, "Mary!",
a moment of love, of grace, recognition,
She cried out, “Rabbouni!”, “Teacher!”,
She was bathed in joy in an instant…
 
Mary saw the risen Christ, resurrected,
Jesus spoke her name in the garden,
The empty tomb was victory, fulfilling His promise,
her Rabbouni, her Teacher, was alive!

facing, staring at Christ's empty tomb…
 
Jesus spoke her name, "Mary!",
a moment of love, of grace, recognition,
she cried out, “Rabbouni!”, her Teacher,
washed with overwhelming joy in an instant…
 
She had seen the risen Christ,
Jesus spoke to her in the garden,
the empty tomb was victory,
her Rabbouni, her Teacher, was alive…

Christ knew Thomas’ heart – v2

Christ told Thomas to touch His hands,
to put his hands in His side,
the words Thomas had spoken,
only to the other disciples,
in secret, in the upper room…
 
Christ knew Thomas’ heart,
the words he had spoken,
in secret, in the upper room,
Christ made a way, a path,
for Thomas to believe…
 
Christ loved Thomas, all who doubt,
Jesus spoke into his heart,
echoing the words he had spoken,
in secret, in the upper room,
so that he would believe…

Did the guards see the Christ

Did the guards see the Christ,
at the moment of His resurrection,
did they testify to the authorities,
to His rising that morning?
 
Were they asleep, in a dream,
did an earthquake wake them,
did they witness the resurrection,
to the empty tomb?
 
They agreed to the lie,
that the disciples had stolen Him,
but did they see the risen Christ,
resurrected, alive at His rising?

I confess my faith

I confess my faith,
my belief in resurrection,
I witness to my hope,
in the risen Lord, Jesus…
 
Not by sight, by touch,
but the indwelling Spirit,
I cleave to my hope in Christ,
to my risen Lord, Jesus…
