The Silence of Saturday – v2

The week’s work not yet finished,
not yet the victory of Easter,
the joy of our Sunday,
when the Christ rose from the dead…
 
We are still in mourning,
the silence of Saturday,
after the sorrow of the Passion,
the darkness in the garden,
His death upon the cross…
 
Numbed, being present,
knowing our Savior,
suffered and died,
and that He spent this day,
in the tomb, the cold ground,
descended to the dead…
