Stealing the Breath of God – v2

We conspired with all of them, complicit,
our silence, our sin, our rebellion,
taking life from our Creator,
the body of the living Jesus,
stealing the breath of God…
 
Nailed to our cross, the tree, the Christ,
held there until he couldn’t breathe,
stealing the Breath of God,
the One thing that makes us human,
rising from the dust, the earth…
 
We conspired with all of them, complicit,
our silence, our sin, our rebellion,
taking life from our Creator,
the body of the living Jesus,
stealing the breath of God…
