An awful silence – v1

I cannot imagine,
their anguish, their terror,
fearing for their own lives,
after watching their Lord, their Master,
crucified by the Romans, by power,
taking His last breath…
 

An awful silence, 

what we call Holy Saturday,

Christ’s body sealed in a tomb,

what was it that they were thinking,

the weight of that terrible Friday,

heavy on their hearts…
