she is, alive, appearing resplendent,
Escaping her vertical prison, the beautiful painting,
Bursting through the screen, the curtain,
As an actor speaking to the audience,
No longer held by the divide, the distance,
Held by two dimensions no longer, free,
Not merely standing, posing, only, reaching,
Now striving forward, outward, upward,
Crossing another plane of existence,
To come more fully alive…
A Sea Angel, a
merwoman, self-evident, conscious,
Seeing her supple body moving, transcendent,
Her wings pulling outward, thrusting upward,
Her body pushing through the flatness, texture,
Longing to live like Pinocchio, a human goddess,
To dance on this mortal coil, to move beyond,
Outside of two dimensions, her prison, her cocoon,
Her womb, gaining that third dimension, life,
Crossing another plane of existence,
To come more fully alive…
