 Water and Fire – 2 – v4

Water and Fire

came together, alive,

in the Jordan, in baptism

for eternity, all time;

Essential elements

change history, our lives,

quickening the dust of the earth.

Water of sacrifice, redemption

blood that was spilled, offered

poured out on us, drenched;

Fire of the Holy Spirit

wash us, fill us,

God’s breath within us,

that we would live.
