seeds of our destruction

casting lots with the lost
giving that which is precious
pearls before swine, evil,
opening our lives to threat
to ruin, to death, the flesh…
 
seeds of our destruction, our undoing,
the transparency of risk, of pain,
living beyond the edge, on the brink,
throwing our lives in the pit,
the fiery furnace, the flesh…
 
nothing can mitigate, can solve,
terrors, the risks of destruction
when fears of aloneness, silence,
overcoming reason, safety,
agency given to the flesh…
