I weep so bitterly,
an orphan,
abandoned, in exile,
estranged from my mother…
her love for me forgotten,
foundering on other shores…
All my people are
strangers,
They are distant from me,
There is no one to talk to…
None of them knows me,
I weep so bitterly…
Youth has escaped
me, forgotten,
lost in this wilderness,
My lover has gone before me…
I weep so bitterly, forever,
for my loss, in my pain…
