high on the mountain,
shrouded in clouds,
“with blood ever watered”,
their tears flowing down…
 
“illumined in sorrow”,
the mountains covered,
“with blood ever watered”,
tears, their anguish, the pain,
of the people living there…
 
struggle on, do not falter
for the battle, the tide is turning
on these mountains, glory
will soon rise again…
 
his kinsmen fallen, lost,
in the far-off mountain,
for the folly of conquest,
far from home, rest,
in his dear Ukraina…
