While their bombers are in the air – v2

While their bombers are in the air,
after missiles have left their launchers,
while the drones are in mid-flight,
while terror stalks each night
air raid sirens, warnings, running,
but truly no way to stop them…
 
Ukraine must be armed, defended,
to clear the skies of Russian terror,
with air defenses, permission,
to take the fight to the enemy,
to meet the moment, the challenge,
as we would do ourselves…
 
They must be allowed to defend themselves,
no more red lines, appeasement, limits,
fearing escalation, stymied, neutered,
not allowed to hit targets, archers,
while there are continuing delays
in aid, in robust air defenses…

in living awakened, holy,
guided by the Holy Spirit,
infused with Pentecost’s power of
with the light of God’s love…

love at our center, grounded,
informing our living, our being,
spirits alive, urgently crying,
in living with purpose, awakened,
dwelling in the water, in the word,
in the truth of God’s love…

Don’t substitute your judgement – v2

Choosing to defy the king, our God,
not going where He leads us,
don’t substitute your judgement,
when God speaks to you clearly,
walk the path He has written…
 
Stay on the path God has written,
out of the love He has for us,
knowing how broken each of us are,
and yet loving us completely,
even while we yet sin…
 
Listen to the Spirit, God’s wisdom,
don’t turn to the right, the left,
focus on God’s purpose, His calling
speaking to your spirit, clearly,
for every day of your life…

Praying for a different outcome – v2

A living fervent prayer,
in this now, in this moment,
for wisdom, for discernment,
praying for a different outcome
than what came to pass,
fear gripping my spirit,
resistance is a weak option,
not knowing, not seeing,
what was part of God’s plan,
a different pathway forward,
for where we stand now, today…
 
My vision short, so weak,
living in my stovepipe, media,
hearing the same message,
the terror so real, so close,
wanting something else,
a hope, a future, a dream,
but facing what is, before me,
seeing more clearly, honestly
pragmatic, certainly, the truth,
praying for a different outcome
but here is reality, right here, right now…

vengeance in Your hands,

The Silence before the train - v3

grace fell upon him, bodily,

in his pain, his suffering then,
despair was wicked, taken away,
in the Silence before the train…

in the Silence before the train,
a gift of grace imparted, gifted,
God’s peace washed o’er him,
calm in his troubled spirit…

gifted time to slow, to sojourn,
to walk quietly with God, to remember,
love he needed in that moment,
in the Silence before the train…

in the silence before the train,
sensing God's presence with him,
lifting away his burdens, freedom,
calm in his troubled spirit...

We find peace in confessing,
laying down our burdens,
in coming before Almighty God,

every stumbling block we carry,

We find peace in prayer,
praying without ceasing,
praying first, always,
submitting our petitions to God…
 
We find peace in leaving,

He will give us peace in our spirit,

stress wicks joy, happiness,

we must bring our cares, our worries,
our struggles and our burdens,

Trust God to restore you – v2

bow before God’s throne,
lay your fears at the feet of Jesus,
do not carry your burdens alone,
there are far too heavy…
 
Trust God to restore you,
for God to heal your completely,
your brokenness a journey,
a path to your righteousness…
 
bring all you are, hurting,
to the feet of Jesus,
abide in the vine, the waters,
of God’s redeeming love…
 
Stand resolute, faithful,
sure of God’s provision for you,
know in your heart, by faith,
that healing will soon come…

iron sharpens iron
one life to another
that which is tarnished
that which is dull
made sharp
made clean
 
iron sharpens iron
a hope for healing
walking together
our hope unseen
needing one another
on our faith journey...
 
iron sharpens iron
encouraging us to follow
the path God has written
the way to our salvation
staying on the stones
avoiding temptation...
 
iron sharpens iron
a partner on the journey
a mentor to confide in
to share with, to be honest
confident to explore
all our deepest truths…

slow your steps, linger,
give time to be thankful
grateful on your journey
praising God for each blessing,
breath, for each new day…

take time to linger
to be present, grateful,
to cherish each blessing
to acknowledge God’s presence,
as close to you as breath…

give time to be thankful
feeling joy in your spirit,
don’t rush but sojourn
knowing God is beside you,
with your every breath…

Oh Lord, I come to You, broken,
on my knees, in adoration,
I praise You in the Pit,
on the Mountaintop…
 
Lord, oh how I need You,
each hour, each minute,
how richly You bless me,
starting with each breath…
 
Oh Lord, draw near me, closer,
pour your blessings upon me,
I am broken, but I am a vessel,
to share Your endless love…
 
Lord, oh how I need You,

beside me with each step…

Every good gift is from You, Lord

Every good gift I have been given,
my life, my way, my breath,
every good gift is from You, Lord,
You place bounty on my path...
 
How I long to be mindful,
reverent in my thoughts, my prayers,
taking time to thank, to praise You,
for every good gift in this life...
 
Every good gift I have been given,
more than I can ever ask for,
if I am honest, truthful, mindful,
is from Your hand, oh God...
 
How I seek to praise You,
to be mindful of Your good gifts,
to offer prayers to You, my Savior,
starting with my life, for breath itself...

Open my eyes, oh God,
to the beauty of Your Law,
the wonders of Your Word,
more of You to know,
to draw closer, Lord,
Your protection, my life,
Your hand guiding my steps,
my hope forevermore…

to wonder, epiphany,
hope in Your commands,
life within Your statutes,

Like a roaring lion - v3

We are in mortal danger, combat,
in danger from attacks, vulnerable,
we risk Hell, damnation, the Pit,
we must be awake, always vigilant,
aware of the threats, the snares of Satan,
from the spiritual realm…
 
Whether we know it our not,
we fight the forces, the armies,
of the Devil, of Hell, of Satan,
while we are here on earth,
but our God protects us,
from the spiritual realm…
 
We must read and trust scripture,
we must abide in worship,
we must pray first, always, ever,
we must cleave to our God
to be prepared for the attacks,
from the spiritual realm…
