Are the people blind

Fallen from the heights
subservient to their master,
the awful cost to freedom,
the kernel of hope dormant…
 
Are the people blind,
beaten into submission,
the awful cost of compliance,
the bending of the knee…
 
Crippled, contorted, hunchbacked,
three souls barred from heaven,
subservient, compliance, bound up,
in chains of their own making…
 
Are the people blind,
seeking The Great Grave of the Hetman,
the ancient fount of freedom,
high upon the heights…
