the whisper of Burns – v2

the whisper of Burns,
the bard of my people
calling to me mightily,
the room where he was born…
 
breathing a breath prayer
a poem for another
a hope, a promise,
in the Highland air…
 
the whisper of Burns,
still calls to me,
an echo of his musings
within my chest…
 
life-giving spirit,
call to me quickly
give me words to share
o’er my ancestors’ homeland…
