Diaspora

Yanked from his homeland,
by cruel masters,
not caring how deeply,
he cared about Ukraine…
 
More than half of his life,
he was set apart, cut off,
like others pulled, ripped,
taken from Ukraine…
 
Part of the diaspora,
the disconnected, disaffected,
but held by his home,
his beloved, Ukraine…
