the mother and the martyr

she weeps for her firstborn,
a zealot to his faith,
though he has been far from home
she knows his face…
 
the mother and the martyr,
their bond is eternal,
together, joined together,
one life as one…
 
he is faithful to her,
her cause is his purpose
never has a son sought for justice,
for his mother, his home.
