dashed the fortune of the nation,
on the foaming path of conquest,
into the boats they gathered,
from the Dnipro’s great harbors…
the blue sea, an angry monster,
waiting for the seamen,
purposely on their mission
to gather more power to them…
alas they did not prosper,
their tombs are high and lofty,
though songs were songs about them,
at one time in Ukraina…
at one time, they knew the path to power,
the ancient seats of the sultan,
their birthplace remembered,
before the roaring seas…
