The arms of the evergreens

 The arms of the evergreens

The arms of the evergreens

white pines mostly

sentries by the highway

watching the clear road

Their arms uplifted

raised up to heaven

open arms singing

a holy praise

The arms outstretched

leaving no doubt

ready for eagles, for sun

for Spring to come
