Streets of Kharkiv run red with blood

Streets of Kharkiv run red with blood,
of the innocents, of too many martyrs,
of men, women, and children, the elderly,
Martyrs to our timidity, to our appeasement,
to the weapons of Russia’s terror…
 
Too long has the West hesitated, delayed,
to give Ukraine what they have needed,
Now we again put conditions, restrictions,
on how they can use these weapons,
undercutting their right to self-defense…
 
Genocide must be stopped, now, this moment,
their hands must be untied, freed from terror,
to defend their people, their homeland,
Unafraid of the bully, of escalation,
no red lines, no limits, unfettered,
until Ukraine achieves victory…
