gather me to your bosom,
my mother, my Ukraina,
bury me high on a hillside,
in the black soil, my home,
high above the Dnipro…
let me rest in my homeland,
let me feel her sweet caress,
until I fly up to my Father,
to my eternal rest…
bring me from the foreign lands,
to my homeland, Ukraina,
bring me home to my mother,
to her bosom, her black soil,
above the Dnipro…
