When was the moment, the moments
the times in our lives,
when we were healed, spiritually changed?
How did these moments
make a difference in our lives?
These ringing questions, perhaps not poetic
ringing in our ears, hanging in the air
suspended over the congregation
in worship today
challenging us first to remember
to set a mood, a foundation
to hear a message challenging
in the story of the healing
one of the first acts of power
in the Acts of the Apostles
The timid followers
now using the name of Christ
the power of the Spirit within them
to boldly claim his name
and heal by the authority
the power of his name

Call to Worship:
Let us praise God, the creator of heaven and Earth.
Let us seek God with open minds and open hearts.
May we feel the Holy spirit among us.
As the Scriptures are read and the Word proclaimed,
as prayers and music are offered, may we receive with
joy and thanksgiving what is offered for us.
Unison Prayer:
Almighty God, to you all hearts are open, all
desires known, and from you no secrets are
hidden. Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the
inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may love
you with our whole self, and worthily praise your
holy name. Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Luke 7:17-22
Prayer of Dedication:
Loving God, the giver of all that is good; our lives
are blessed daily by your gifts. Help us to receive
your gifts with such gratitude, that we will be giving,
as you are to us. We pray that through us the whole
world will know the gift of your generous love in
Jesus Christ, the one who gave his life for us, and for
the whole world.
