Five of ten maidens enter by the narrow gate
through the gate of Jesus, the bridegroom, the Christ
the rest are caught asleep, unprepared
their lamps empty, without any oil
in the dark, when He comes
a thief in the night.
Eternal vigilance, a price to pay
for keys to the kingdom, the golden ticket
Waiting in faith for the call of the trumpet
the Bridegroom in Glory
ready for the happily ever after.
