Flying from every flagpole

Flying from every flagpole,
a sea of blue and yellow,
a nation from ashes of struggle,
rising to meet the dawn…
 
Light shining down upon them,
rising from the black soil,
a new birth, in victory,
a nation healed, restored…
 
So much lost, so much sacrificed,
blood filled streets and trenches,
but prayers buried with them,
in the soil of this land they love…
 
Flying from every flagpole,
a nation lifted in prayer,
strength their unity, rising,
into the light of a new day…
