border, terror,
to the repeating onslaught,
caged by restrictions, rules,
bright lines they always cross,
not allowed to strike the archers,
To thwart their genocide…
Too close to the
border, to terror,
for warning, defensive actions,
missiles, drones coming,
shattering the stillness,
trapped in safe places,
while the bombs fall…
Too close to the
border, to terror,
a great city, a vulnerable population,
their continuing fight, their struggle,
forgotten in the fleeting news cycle;
we say we stand with them,
but the bombs continue to fall…
Too close to the
border, to terror,
a forgotten easy target, repeating,
their only defense is offensive,
to strike the bases, the archers,
too little time for defense,
to catch the incoming arrows…
