In this small space
something
about the soil
easy
to measure, to see,
a
spare-bedroom-sized place
between
the maple tree
and
the front shrub,
just
beyond, in front of
our
bright dandelion patch
a
carpet of white clover
shimmering,
swaying
in
the June breeze
new
blooms bursting
ready
for the harvest
of
her little hands,
their
shrieks of joy,
and
giggles of wonder
