A Carpet of Clover – v2

In the small space

something about the soil

easy to measure, to see,

a spare bedroom-sized place

between the maple tree

and the shrub, just beyond

the dandelion patch

a carpet of clover

sways in the June breeze

new blooms bursting

ready for the harvest

of little hands,

their shrieks of joy

and giggles of wonder
