while things are unequal

while health care, education

all access to power, to wealth

while justice is bought

while things are unequal

we cannot truly be free

the promise of our nation

the dreams, the hopes of our children

all of it is an illusion

a cruel lie for too many

whether we believe it or not

the American dream too far

outside the means of too many

a revolution to come

when I do not know

but as sure as taxes and death
