the goodness and mercy

what should we tell them
in truth only one hope
the goodness and mercy
the grace of Almighty God
all else a fiction
a grave, earthen idol
no nation, no people
better than the rest
all of us fallen, mortal
conquered by our sin
only the sacrifice of Christ
can give us life again
only the goodness
the mercy of God
his grace poured upon us
forever, for all time
