The snow, blowing, drifting
stinging my face, the swirls
bringing my throw,
shovelful,
back at me, boomerang
laughing, smiling to myself
of earlier days, long ago
when this would be for fun
a fort or just to toss in
the air
watching the snow fall as the
wind willed it
the yard now dunes of snow,
ridges,
white sand, with waves,
furrows
of blowing, drifting powder
the beach of my lawn
