how many
repressed, treated unequally
so many killed,
tens of thousands
but now,
suddenly, action
people hurting, writhing,
dying
the line
crossed, chemical weapons
a tyrant ruling,
hurting his own people
first in our
thoughts
wanting to stop
him
reason,
overwhelming,
but what of the
next steps
the moves on the
chessboard
several moves
down the road
his retribution,
attacks
within or
outside of the borders
what of the
whirlwind, the dogs of war
what if there is
an accident
a missile off
course
striking a
mosque, an apartment
or a weapons
depot
or a chemical
weapon
sent into
another land
or bombs exploding
in a neighborhood
what of the
innocents, so many,
treated so
unfairly, rebels soon,
men, women, and
children
caught in the
middle
the rise of
ISIL, ISIS, extremists,
men needing to
prove their manhood
attacking,
tormenting
a multi-headed
snake
