Before he was born,
before the Messiah
illumined in the womb,
filled by the Holy Spirit
a prophet born
Proclaim the Savior
into the world
baptizing in his name
with water to purify
repentance to offer
making the way straight
humbling the people
washing away they sins
opening their hearts
bringing his light
into the darkness
into the wilderness
