Our calls to serve aren’t as dramatic as the prophets

What are we to say, do we feel less urgency
less worthy, less motivated,
do we wonder if God waits on us
our calls to serve aren’t as dramatic as the prophets
or are they, are they meaningful
what of the great commission, to make disciples
to go out into the world, as Jonah did
to save the world from destruction
many more days than three days wide
the world, the vast ocean, the deep
the darkness needing the light
the very light we carry
commanded by our Savior, our Creator
to go into that world, hurting
needing God’s love, forgiveness
life evermore, forever with our Lord
