what was done in the upper room

personal, with meaning
the twelve together
sharing the Passover with Christ
starting with the foot washing
the things that were said
changing the whole world
the ministry, the mission
ripped, torn apart
yet for this moment they were one
seated around the table
sharing so much, together
the first disciples
those who would run away,
those who would deny him
the one who would betray him
all given a place at the table
sharing the foot washing,
the bread and the cup
all of them with Jesus
on the night he was given up
