Kompromat

What must it be,
A truth unlike all others,
To hold such raw power,
Kompromat, poison,
A secret never to be told,
Hidden in the shadows
Darkness of pure evil,
A sword of Damocles,
Over his head, poised
To strike, to destroy,
A razor at his throat
Cutting his Adam’s apple,
Getting his full attention,
Trigger words, phrases,
Changing his life’s direction,
A threat, an engagement, stolen,
What a horrible truth he must hold
For him to sell his soul, his country,
To bend to the will of another,
His handler, his tormentor…
