All he gave, for us,
heavenly living, for a manger bed,
angels at his beck and call
for sheep, for the lowing cows
Servanthood, temptation,
the sweat of his brow
A yoke of sacrifice,
a path to death
Punished and scourged
for nothing he had done
taking the lashes, the thorns,
the cross we could not bear
