Placed upon a pedestal
that which we value,
our priority, our priorities in life
People or things, no matter
risking to be idolized, to become
our focus, our god
One true God, who made us, who knows us
who loves us enough, to sacrifice his son
to set the world on its axis
to reconcile himself to us
He alone is worthy
he alone is God
