Funny to watch her, a burst of energy
moving from her chair, from our chatting
getting up, going in, to be with him
knowing now that he was awake
awake from his struggling slumber
the little moments of sleep stolen in the ward
calling for her, made known by the staff
going when she was called
to be at his side, holding,
comforting him again
There for him, in love
a commitment, a covenant
bearing our in her witness
in her action, moving to his side
when he called for her by name
