the dream unfinished
so far to go
before we sleep
before we can be sure
that all our people are free
more to dream
in this land, opportunity
land of the pilgrims
of the slaves, the servants
of the righteous, the fallen
those who were martyrs
so much more to do
before our slumber
but it is within our power
our choice to be complacent
or to stand in courage
our time, our place
it is our decision
more to dream, to strive for
to stand as a people
no to the tyrants, to those
who would subjugate our
people
