The moon, three-quarters full
shining in the afternoon blue
she and I walking along
“Where does the rest of the moon go?”
she asked, wondered, daydreamed
“it is tucked up under the blanket”
was my answer, that thought
and so the eye attests
the cool white reflected light
tucked up under the blue
a blanket of the dome
the moon nestled
under the covers
