She wondered, noticed,
he was taking notes in the sanctuary
While she was preaching, sharing the parable
treasures found, and their response
What would you give? What would you sell?
To hold the treasure as your own
How would you hold that treasure in your hands?
His hands, writing a hymn, an echo of worship,
the words of the Gospel, her words, blended
a gift of grace, a blessing for us to share
Two days later, a hymn, born of the scripture
of the sermon, of the inspiration of God
What would you sell? Yes, what would you sell?
