Silence steps, into the chapel
the open-air sanctuary
walking in silence
a mere rubbing underfoot
less than a crunch
pine needle floorboards
of the chapel in the woods
reverent silence
broken by the lapping of the water
of the rocks beyond the pulpit, the cross
silent sanctuary, lost in worship
stillness on the island
the birch cross radiant
a light to us all
