The coming of the Messiah
the new King of the people
the one who would come
to seal the breach
as new branches sprout from a stump
so He would be
the shoot of Jesse
David’s royal line
Christ fulfilled
all glory, all prophecy
in the city of David
under the mighty star
coming to earth
descending from heaven
the throne he gave up
to climb the rugged cross
Planting seeds,
shoots of the same vine
planting them deep
in the soil of our hearts
our clay vessels filled
with the living water
with the risen Messiah
His Spirit guiding our feet
Living ever,
abiding together
in peace with our Maker
following the Son
Going together
yoked with our Savior
going as we are led
to spread the good news
