not to harm us
to cage, to tame us
rules, boundaries
Thou Shall Not’s
lines in scripture
we shall not cross
freedom bound
by the commands of Christ
to love only God
and our neighbors as ourselves
to love as Christ loves us
rules, boundaries
to guide us on our walk
to show we are followers
disciples of Christ
freedom bound
out of love, mercy,
gathered one day
to our home above.
